Sue & Toni’s Coombe Lodge Wedding

September 21, 2018

If you’re looking for real-life examples of relaxed wedding photography at Coombe Lodge in Bristol, Sue and Toni’s day is a solid one. No staged romance, no awkward posing, and no dramatic fake dips. Just a brilliant couple, a great venue, and the kind of atmosphere that makes documentary-style wedding photography work exactly as it should.

Why Coombe Lodge Works So Well

coombe lodge exterior viewCoombe Lodge is one of those wedding venues that does the heavy lifting for you: clean lines, good natural light, space to move, and plenty of spots for photos without turning the day into a fashion shoot. It’s ideal for couples who want natural, candid wedding photos rather than rehearsed moments.

Getting Ready

The morning was calm and organised. No chaos, no panicked phone calls, no mysterious missing shoes (a rarity). Perfect for relaxed prep photos without the stress.

The Ceremony

Their ceremony was personal, straightforward and full of genuine connection – the kind that photographs well without needing staged emotion. A few laughs, a couple of subtle emotional moments, and a room full of guests who were clearly invested.

Confetti, Groups & Portraits in the grounds of Coombe Lodge

After the ceremony we headed outside. Group photos were done efficiently – no missing relatives hiding at the bar.

For couple portraits, we walked around the grounds and worked with the space naturally. No posing instructions that require yoga-level flexibility. Just Sue and Toni being themselves, which always results in better photos.

Speeches, Food & Dancing

Speeches hit the perfect balance of humour and honesty. Later, the dancefloor filled quickly (helped by good music and enthusiastic guests — the ideal combination).

A Wedding Worth Sharing
