That’s exactly what happened when I had the pleasure of photographing Lesley and Sandy’s special day in Dereham, Norfolk.
The ceremony itself was held at the charming Dereham Train Station, adding a touch of nostalgia to the occasion. As the couple exchanged vows, they were surrounded by their loved ones, creating a truly intimate and heartfelt atmosphere.
But the magic didn’t end there. After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests boarded a train for the reception. Can you imagine the joy and excitement of toasting to love while the train chugged along the picturesque Norfolk countryside?
The train took everyone to a placing called Hardingham. Disembarking, everyone had a chance to look around the station while they waited for the train to change tracks for the return journey.
Cutting the cake and speeches
As the train returned to Dereham, the excitement continued to build. The guests eagerly gathered for the speeches, eager to hear heartfelt words about the newlyweds’ journey of love. Laughter and tears filled the air as friends and family shared their fondest memories and wishes for the couple’s future.
And then came the moment everyone had been waiting for – the cake cutting. The wedding cake, a masterpiece of sweetness and artistry, stood proudly in the center of the room. With a touch of wit and charm, the couple playfully fed each other the first slice, symbolizing their commitment to always nourish and support one another.
The room erupted in applause and cheers as the couple sealed their union with a sweet and delicious gesture. The cake was then served to the guests, who indulged in its delectable flavors while celebrating the love that brought them all together.
