Burgh House Hampstead Wedding Photographer | Abs & Leeanne

Natural, documentary wedding photography at Burgh House Hampstead in North London.

Abs & Leeanne’s Burgh House Hampstead Wedding

Abs and Leeanne chose Burgh House for its quiet Georgian charm and intimate ceremony rooms - and it suited their day perfectly.

Burgh House in Hampstead has a very specific feel. It’s elegant but not grand. Historic without being overwhelming. The ceremony room feels warm and personal rather than theatrical.

Their wedding was small, relaxed and completely centred on the people in the room.

No staging. No production. Just presence.

A Ceremony That Felt Close and Personal

The ceremony space at Burgh House works beautifully for natural, documentary photography. The light is soft and directional, and the room feels contained in a way that makes every reaction visible.

As Abs and Leeanne exchanged vows, the atmosphere felt grounded. Guests were close enough to feel involved. Smiles were immediate. Laughter didn’t feel formal - it felt familiar.

When they signed the register, you could sense the shift in energy - that quiet moment where it all becomes official.

Outside, Hampstead’s calm streets and garden areas gave us space for relaxed portraits without disappearing for long stretches.

How the Day Flowed

One of the strengths of a Burgh House Hampstead wedding is simplicity.

Ceremony indoors.
Confetti just outside.
Portraits in the garden and surrounding streets.
Then straight into celebration.

No complicated logistics. No transport gaps.

Because everything is walkable and compact, the energy stays consistent. That makes a real difference to how the day feels - and how the photographs look.

We kept portraits short and natural, blending them into the rhythm of the day rather than pulling the couple away from their guests.

My Approach

When I photograph weddings at Burgh House Hampstead, I focus on subtlety.

The glance before the vows.
The laughter between guests.
The quiet moments after the ceremony.

I don’t over-direct or create artificial scenes. Smaller weddings especially benefit from a calm, unobtrusive approach.

The goal is always the same - photographs that reflect what it actually felt like to be there.
