Love is Love... and it ALWAYS will be!

I've never looked through my camera and thought about politics. I've only ever seen people in love. In this personal blog post, I share my thoughts on acceptance, inclusion and why everybody deserves to celebrate their relationship without fear of judgement.

Over the last few weeks, I've found myself feeling quite sad watching some of the conversations happening around the LGBTQ+ community.

Whether it's debates about Pride, arguments on social media, or stories about Pride flags being taken down, it feels like there's a lot of anger flying around at the moment. And if I'm honest, I don't really understand why.

As a wedding photographer, I spend my weekends surrounded by people celebrating one of the happiest days of their lives. Two people standing up and saying, "I choose you."

That's it.

That's the whole story.

I've photographed weddings for couples from all sorts of backgrounds, beliefs, cultures and identities. What they all have in common is that they've found someone they love and want to spend their life with.

I've never looked through my camera and thought about politics.

I've never stood at the front of a ceremony wondering who somebody votes for.

I've never delivered a gallery and cared about anything other than whether the photographs capture the joy, laughter, tears and questionable dance moves from the day.

Because that's what weddings are really about.

Love.

Connection.

Family.

Friends.

Celebrating the people who matter most.

I know not everyone will share the same views on every topic, and that's okay. The world would be a pretty boring place if we all agreed on everything. But I do believe that everyone deserves to feel accepted, respected and safe being themselves.

Nobody should have to worry about whether their relationship is somehow less valid than someone else's.

Nobody should feel unwelcome at their own wedding.

And nobody should feel that the simple act of loving another person makes them a target for criticism or hatred.

For me, photography has always been about people. Real people. Real stories. Real moments.

So if you're planning a wedding with the person you love, whoever that person may be, you'll always be welcome here.

I'll turn up with my cameras... and I'll do my best to capture a day that feels completely and unapologetically like you.

Because at the end of the day, love is hard enough to find.

When you do find it, I think that's something worth celebrating.
