Short Wedding Photography London

Small wedding. Short timeline. Same big energy.

If you’re doing a registry office ceremony, a micro wedding, or just keeping the day tight and actually enjoyable... short wedding photography makes loads of sense. You get the key moments covered properly, without paying for a full day you don’t need.

I’m Jon... I shoot weddings in a calm, documentary way. No staged nonsense. No dragging you around like it’s a magazine cover shoot. Just solid photos of what it felt like.

What counts as “short wedding photography”?

Usually 1 to 3 hours (sometimes 4). Often it’s:

  • arrivals + the ceremony

  • signing / rings / first kiss

  • confetti + congratulations

  • a few group photos (quick and painless)

  • some couple photos nearby (10–20 minutes, tops)

A short wedding doesn’t mean “less important”. It usually means: fewer people, less faff, more time actually being present.

What I can capture in 1 hour

If you book 1 hour, we keep it tight and smart:

Typical flow

  • 10–15 mins: arrivals + scene-setting (you turning up, guests milling about)

  • 20–25 mins: ceremony + signing

  • remaining time: confetti / hugs / a handful of group shots outside

This works brilliantly for London register offices where everything’s close and people are ready to get to the pub.

What 90 minutes gives you

90 minutes is the sweet spot if you want breathing room:

  • more arrivals and natural moments before the ceremony

  • more relaxed confetti + congratulations

  • time to grab a few couple photos without sprinting

It’s basically the difference between “we got it” and “we got it… and we didn’t break a sweat.”

What 2–3 hours looks like

With 2–3 hours, you can usually add:

  • a short walk to nearby streets/parks for couple photos

  • more group combinations (still quick, still not painful)

  • a toast at the reception venue if it’s close

If you want that “tiny wedding, big photos” vibe — this is it.

Frequently asked questions

Do you shoot short wedding differently from full days?

Same approach, just faster decisions. I’m still looking for real moments - I’m just doing it on a tighter clock.

Will we still get couple photos?

Yes. I’ll usually steal 10–20 minutes nearby. Nothing dramatic. No performing.

What if we need longer on the day?

If I’m free and you want me to stay, you can add time. Simple.

Can you help us plan a timeline?

Yes - especially for short coverage. A few small tweaks can save you 20 minutes of chaos.

If you’re planning a short wedding in London and want photos that feel like your day - send me the date, venue and ceremony time, and I’ll tell you what coverage makes sense.
